Friday the 13th may be unlucky for some, however with the luck of the Irish behind them, good things came in threes for the O’Reilly family at the Queensland Tourism Awards last week, with one win and two finalist nominations!

O’Reilly’s Canungra Valley Vineyards, a boutique vineyard in the Gold Coast Hinterland operated by the legendary O’Reilly family, took out the Tourism Wineries, Distilleries and Boutique Breweries award.

The award was proudly accepted by Managing Director and third generation family member, Shane O’Reilly. In an emotional speech, Mr O’Reilly reflected on what an honour the award was.

“This award means so much to the Vineyard, especially as just last year we suffered a devastating flood,” Mr O’Reilly said.

“This is also a fantastic win for the Queensland Wine Industry.”

The Vineyard’s philosophy is to celebrate the simple pleasures in life, which they did with style when accepting this award.

The win capped off a year of festivities as the Vineyard also celebrated its 10th birthday this year, plus the 150 year anniversary of the historic ‘Killowen’ Queenslander homestead, the Vineyard’s majestic centrepiece.

O'Reilly's Rainforest Retreat was also a Finalist in the Steve Irwin Ecotourism Award and O’Reilly’s Mountain Villas and Lost World Spa were Finalists in the New Tourism Development category.
