Nature nurtures at O’Reilly’s new Lost World Spa, which is set to take relaxation and rejuvenation to new heights, 1km above sea level - offering the ultimate world of pampering and rejuvenation set amidst the World Heritage listed rainforest and spectacular beauty of Lamington National Park.
Named after the rugged wilderness valley below O’Reilly’s, the Lost World Spa offers that rare chance to commune with nature while enjoying a tranquil escape from the real world, with unique treatments utilising local indigenous plants and the superior service O’Reilly’s is renown for.
O’Reilly’s has found a natural partner in Sodashi, a West Australian company that supplies the finest natural products to some of the world’s best spas in over 20 countries, including Six Senses Spas throughout Asia, Emirate’s Spas worldwide and luxury facilities at premium Four Season hotels.
The Lost World Spa will also draw on the unique healing properties of vino-therapy, utilising extracts from grapes grown in O’Reilly’s own vineyard, which contain some of nature’s most powerful anti-oxidants.
It will be the only facility of its type to act as a draw-card for showcasing Australia’s world-class subtropical rainforest, and the first premium Destination Spa within a World Heritage National Park in Southern Queensland.
Spa Manager Raelean Durant has drawn inspiration from the surrounding beauty to create an enticing menu of treatments and indulgent spa rituals that promise relaxation for the mind, wellness for the body and space and time for the soul.
“The setting is such a big part of the therapy, with the simplicity of sitting by the fire, savouring the stunning mountain views and the sights and scents of the forest as the starting point for a range of treatments that stimulate the senses, calm the mind and replenish the soul,” Ms Durant said.
“The beautiful rituals we have developed offer a unique opportunity for real renewal by combining multiple treatments over up to 5 hours, while individual treatments include massages for those with tired muscles from bush walking and facial and beauty treatments to revive the skin, cleanse the body and slow the ageing process.”
Ms Durant said Sodashi was an automatic choice as a partner because their products are 100% chemical free and the company’s philosophy is a perfect match for O’Reilly’s own ethic of respect for and love of the environment.
“Sodashi is an ancient Indian Sanskrit word that translates to ‘wholeness, purity and radiance’ and this is embodied in their pure products that include aromatic compresses and clay masks blended with herbal tonics and pure plant essences.”
“The name genuinely reflects the companies values and a commitment to the environment that includes chemical free processes and reducing waste.”
“Sodashi is the ideal product in the healing hands of our qualified, caring therapists and a range will also be available to our guests to purchase in our wellness boutique.”
Built as part of the $34 million Mountain Villas development, the Lost World Spa & Conference facility is complemented by a new standard of luxury accommodation at O’Reilly’s in the form of 48 exclusive freestanding villas, also nestled into the lush rainforest.
The facility features retreat style conference and meeting facilities set against a breathtaking mountain backdrop, seven treatment rooms, including two sublime couple’s suites, and a relaxation room warmed by a fire and boasting stunning vistas.
The couples suites offer both privacy and spectacular views, including a hydrotherapy bath and Rasul steam room, that borrows on a North African tradition to combine the rejuvenating effect of steam with therapeutic scrubs and mud treatments that couples apply to each other.
Adjoining but discretely separate from the sanctuary of the Spa area is a 25 metre lap pool and adult and children’s pool facility.
O’Reilly’s Managing Director Shane O’Reilly said adding the luxury of Spa treatments to the current outdoor activities program would complete the natural retreat experience, ensuring guests leave the mountain heights totally revitalised.
“The Spa not only opens up a whole new market, but caters to the growing expectations of existing guests looking for health and wellness experiences to complement their rainforest escape,“ Mr O’Reilly said.
“O’Reilly’s is creating this new market opportunity at a time when international demand for Spa experiences is booming and when ecotourism is one of the fastest growing niche sectors of the Australian tourism industry. O’Reilly’s capitalises on the convergence of these two key trends.”
“International trends in Spa tourism show that people are choosing holiday destinations based on seeking out high quality Spa experiences, and this will be the type of Spa, in such a unique and pristine location, that will be a primary attraction for many guests.”
Opening on the 4th August, O’Reilly’s Lost World Spa specially caters to romantic escapes, wedding parties, mothers-to-be, corporate retreats and recovery therapy for tired bushwalkers.
