Guests at O'Reilly's can get even more out of their stay in Lamington National Park by hiring a private guide to personally take them through the most productive areas. There is no substitute for local knowledge. Our guides know the local area, the best waterfalls and lookouts, the nature hot spots, they recognise every bird call and understand the best methods for locating each bird species.
While O'Reilly's is famous for its rainforest surroundings and the special birds that dwell within, the diversity of habitat just a short drive away is what allows us to see such an extensive array of species.
The daily hiring rate includes access to a 4WD vehicle, so superb areas of eucalypt forest (home to a range of interesting birds such as Spotted Quail-thrush, Red-browed Treecreeper and Glossy Black-Cockatoo) are only fifteen minutes away.
Another fifteen minutes takes us into an abundant area of farmland and patches of dry forest, dotted with small dams that attract a wide range of waterfowl and bush birds. We'll take you straight to the best places and the best birds.
