Crush: News from Canungra Valley Vineyards

Come one, come all to our first Member's Summer Social - a warm up to the festive season and a chance to check out the early stages of the harvest, play a game of creekside cricket or just relax on your picnic rug! We invite you to bring your friends and family for a relaxing day under the shade of the Silky Oak trees and enjoy great food, fantastic wine and good company.

New vintages available for tasting will be 2007 Platypus Play Unwooded Chardonnay, Shane Reserve Shiraz 2005 and the 2007 Platypus Play Devine Red - plus all of your other favourites.

WINE OF THE MONTH - Platypus Play Semillon 2007

Hand harvested by our own members on a fine February morning, the 2007 Semillon is a crisp, light wine that is well suited to our Queensland summers. The warm citrus and herbaceous nose blend well with fresh lime and a hint of apple in the fruit flavours.

Chef Rob's Dish of November is the Sumac Crusted Chicken Breast, filled with toasted macadamia nuts, on lemon myrtle fruit cous cous with tarragon sauce. A mouth-watering dish to celebrate the end of spring!

Rob will be changing the menu for the summer, with the new menu available from Thursday 13th December. It's sure to be another tempting selection!

Please note: 'Vintage' is fully booked on Saturdays 17th, 24th and Sunday 25th of this month.

CHRISTMAS LUNCH - Tuesday, 25th December

Take the hard work out of Christmas this year and join us for our Gourmet Christmas Buffet - we still have a few seats left on the verandah for our festive feast. For a more relaxed option, we also have special Christmas picnic baskets available, so you can lie beside the creek with a cool breeze or go for a paddle in the water.

Take a sneak peak at the festive feast or our special Christmas picnic baskets. Santa will also be making a special appearance on the day! Cost is $90.00 per person for Vineyard members or $99.00 per person for non-members. Tables and picnic baskets are still available, but are filling fast. Congratulations to all of our recent wedding couples. This has certainly been a popular month for nuptials. Our wedding coordinator Adele is already keeping us busy for next year!

SAVOYARDS OPERA IN THE VINES

The annual Savoyards Opera production was hosted for the first time in the newly completed Wine Cellar at the beginning of the month. It was another successful event and a wonderful evening was had by all, with the Wine Cellar providing a perfect atmosphere for this special night. Next year is already booked in for Saturday 1st November - add this date for your diaries!
