WINE OF THE MONTH - Shane Reserve Shiraz 2006
A perenial favourite, the 2006 vintage was launched to great praise last month. The Shane Reserve Shiraz was recently awarded 4 stars in the Winestate Magazine (with an upcoming feature in the September issue) and is receiving extremely favourable reviews at the cellar door. There are only limited quantities of this vintage, with an expected sell out date of August this year, so we recommend that you get in early to stock up the cellar and avoid disappointment.

Platypus Play Semillon 2008 and Vince Reserve Verdelho 2008
Saturday 28th June, 2008
Join us to celebrate the new releases of these popular wines. The Semillon has always been a classic and versatile choice with our members and the Verdelho has fast become a favourite. This year, we have sourced the Semillon from our South Burnett and Granite Belt vineyards due to the loss of our homestead-grown grapes, but even in pre-release the Semillon has already been awarded a Bronze medal at the recent Mediterranean Wine Challenge held in Toowoomba.
Guest speaker at the Launch will be our talented Chef, Rob Wauters, who will be demonstrating the preparation and cooking methods for our Silky Oak Pork Belly with Rhubarb and Red Cabbage Compote, served on a Rice Timbale with Apple and Cinnamon Puree & Fresh Green Vegetables, as featured on the new winter menu (pictured right). Delicious winter fare!
Arrive by 11:30am for a 12:00pm start in the wine cellar, then stay on for a special 'Launch Lunch' or a picnic / BBQ basket. Bookings are essential and can be made by calling us on 07 5543 4011 or emailing Sam or Keer via wine@oreillys.com.au.

LONA ENJOYS A DROP OF LONA!
Although Lona O'Reilly wasn't able to make it to the launch of her namesake wine recently, she celebrated her own launch 'Tuscan-style' with a bottle of the Lona Sparkling Semillon while on holidays in Italy with new husband Noel. Cheers!
DIARY DATES
'DOWN BY THE CREEK' FESTIVAL - Sunday, 6th July
Join us as we 'jazz it up' during our 'Down by the Creek' Festival, on Sunday 6th July. Come and enjoy an afternoon of great food and live music featuring renowned Blues artist Bo Jenkins and his band, Australia's premier Blues / Harp player Chris Wilson and The Easybeats' Stevie Wright, plus special guest Sarah Carroll. Performances start from 12:00pm and continuing 'swinging' through to 4:00pm. Hurry - book now as numbers are strictly limited! Tickets are $100.00 per person / $200.00 per couple and include a picnic basket, bottle of wine and picnic rug.
On the day, the Vineyard will be reserved for buses and disabled parking only, however parking is available in Canungra with return bus transfers for $10.00 per person. 'Vintage' restaurant will also be closed on this day, however the Canungra Cellar Door will be open for wine tastings.
DAY TRIP TO SIRROMET WINERY - Friday 25th July
Join us for a fun day trip to Sirromet Winery for a winery tour, wine tasting and two-course lunch. The bus leaves from Robina train station at 9:30am with a pick up at Helensvale train station at 10:00am. Members price: $95.00 per person including tour, wine tasting, lunch and return bus transfers. Without bus transfers: $70.00 per person. ANNUAL GOLD COAST HINTERLAND WINEMAKERS DINNER - Friday 22nd August
Enjoy a gourmet six-course dinner matched with wines from Gold Coast Hinterland wineries and vineyards at the annual Gold Coast Wine Maker's Dinner, held at the Gold Coast Convention Centre on Friday, August 22nd. REPLANTING SEMILLON VINES - Saturday 30th August:
Make your mark and claim your row for the grand replanting of the Semillon vines, plus a small plot of Shiraz vines. This will be an all-day event but we will provide a delicious lunch as a 'thank you'. Arrive by 7:00am for coffee and tea and finish with a buffet lunch in the wine cellar.
