WINE OF THE MONTH - Bernard Reserve Chambourcin 2005

These past chilly mornings have been a great reminder that this is the season to enjoy the reds with a belly-warming meal and the Bernard is ideal with lamb shanks, beef hotpot or roasted duck breast. One of the most popular wines so far at the Ekka this year, it looks like the 'different' variety of the Chambourcin is coming into its own.

A medium to full bodied wine, with a rich array of aromas and a fabulous purple red colour; the Bernard is drinking well now but will also suit another couple of years in your cellar.

VINE REPLANTING DAY - DATE CHANGE

October - Date TBA (third time lucky!)

We do apologise, but our Viticulturist has advised that we change the proposed replanting day to October, due to a change in vine conditions. We will be in contact with everyone who has already placed their name down to attend of the exact date within the next week. All other details will remain the same and we do look forward to seeing you here.

For those still interested, there are some places available for anyone who may be able to attend in October and we are currently aiming for either the 2nd or 3rd Saturday.

Thank you to everyone who has responded to this special members offer for the exclusive naming rights to a row of vines, we have had a wonderful response. For everyone that has already 'booked their row', may you please advise your choice of row and the name by Saturday 7th September. We will be sending all the confirmation letters out very soon.

For those still interested, there are still a selection of vines available for you to purchase the naming rights to for only $150.00.

You will receive:

• An engraved plaque with your row name at the homestead end of the row, marking your row for perpetuity.
• One complimentary carton of wine made from those grapes in either 5 years time or when the first production quality fruit is harvested, for you to cellar or drink as you wish (you will need to remain a financial member throughout this time*).
